Plot:

popular director Shankar's movie 'klloori has been dubbed in telugu as 'Kalashala'. 'Director Balaji Shakthivel takes off from where he left in 'Premiste'. This new film 'Klashala' also looks at life and emotions.

Story:

The story is about a group of friends. They are all friends from their school days. The four girls and five boys now grow and join a college. They are all enjoying their student life when a newcomer enters their gang. Their lives take a turn after that. Muthu (Akhil) is a sprinter. Hemalatha plays the role of Kavitha, a girl who keeps the gang together. Shobhana (Tamanna) plays the new girl who joins the college. She is ragged in the college but Kavitha rescues her. Slowly Kavitha manages to make friends with her and she joins the gang of friends. Shobhana gets a seat in Birla College in Delhi but she refuses to join the course. She prefers to study in the college at Madurai. Shobhana comes from a well to do family. Muthu soon falls in for Shobhana. But Kavitha is a very practical and wise girl. She tries her best at various times to make them realize that all friendships between a boy and girl need not end up a love. Muthu and Shobhana find that they are in deep love but are not sure how to convince the others. They are torn between being good friends and turning their friendship into love. The intense turmoil forms the basis for the rest of the story.

Performances:

Akhil as Muthu makes an impressive debut. Tamannaa as Shobhana performs well. Supporting them are the other members, especially Bharani as Ramesh, the jack in the box who is always ready with his comments. Hemalatha as Kavitha gets into the skin of the character with great ease

Technical Values:

Director Balaji Shakthivel has done a neat job and he portrays the life of students in college very well. He shows how students from different socio-economic background adjust to their lives in college. The film is an emotional roller coaster ride and will bring tears to many. The film does not have the usual gimmicks like dance numbers and fights and as such, it may not appeal to a wide all classes of audience. The climax however could have been handled differently.

Over All:

Truly a movie to enjoy and relish! Watch ’Kalashala’ for the commendable performance of the cast, which lends an authentic feel to the story, even if the plot did not match up to expectations.
